When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind and call the surgery once sufficient time has elapsed.
It is the patient's responsibility to follow up on their test results.
If you have had a test in surgery (for instance, a blood test, or swab) it is essential that you contact reception after 2 weeks to check that all your results are back and to ask what your doctor has said about them. Results can sometimes go missing between surgery and lab so please never assume that no news means good news .
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results. They can only provide the comments left by the clinician.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior written permission.
We are currently working a more patient face digital approach for you to receive your results. We currently have patients who will be taking part in a pilot, if you are interested please contact the Practice Manager.
